Migrating to the cloud, bring it on.

imageSince two years we see nothing else than cloud cloud cloud in magazines, blogs, presentations and cloud events popping-up like mushrooms all over the place.

But who and how many of you have been migrating his email or collaboration environment to the cloud, who is integrating his business systems with cloud based services creating a hybrid model?

Are we just talking or is something actually happening?

Over the last months we (Imtech ICT) have been working on several cloud migrations and integrations. We think migrating data to the cloud might be very useful,  depending on the business case, but integrating cloud services with on-premise systems is key for most of the organizations.

What we did around cloud services;

imageOne example we worked on for a large insurance company during 2010 and now again in 2011 is the integrations of Salesforce.com with on premise business systems connected by an ESB (IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus) serving several business units in multiple countries with reporting data.

imageAnother example is the migration of 5.200 email accounts for a international company to a cloud based email service (Microsoft BPOS) where we built the a fully automated email and archive migration street with the tools from BinaryTree where also archives are automatically migrated into the cloud.

Something is happening!

These are just 2 finalized examples showing that something is actually happening and you should know that the request for cloud based services coming from the market is growing and I we are really close of supporting multiple customers with cloud service integration, CRM online, Email online and collaboration online.

Bring it on!
